Programme for 2017 – 2018
|Mon 18th December afternoon performance||Christmas Spectacular 2017
|Set in the magical surroundings of mechanical organs and fairground carousels, with a cast of 130 professional singers, dancers and musicians – many of whom are West End performers. The 3 hour performance delivers an extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety. It’s a fast moving celebration of the festive season featuring an eclectic mix of both seasonal and year-round favourites, with famous and much-loved chart toppers being sung alongside traditional carols.|
|Thur 29th February matinee||Strangers on a Train
The Cambridge Arts Theatre
|It has several well known actors and the play is based on a world renowned 1950s novel by Patricia Highsmith, made universally famous by the classic Oscar winning Alfred Hitchcock film. This astonishingly gripping production is guaranteed to delight you with its dark wit and thrill and chill you as the suspense mounts.|
|We are considering two quite different shows in April and would be grateful if you could let us know – either, neither or which.|
|April 5th-7th||Cirque Berserk
Theatre Royal Norwich
|Direct from The West End showcasing the finest in traditional circus, combines contemporary cirque-style artistry with adrenaline fuelled stunt action.||choice 1|
|April 17th-21st evenings only||The Marriage of Figaro
Cambridge Arts Theatre
|Performed by The English Touring Operatic Society. Mozart’s classic comedy is one of the world’s most beloved operas – sublime music and Huge sense of fun.||choice 2|
|tbd||We cannot yet obtain the programme for Brick Lane Music Hall – although last year we did not have enough support to fill a 35 seater coach, we joined Felix’s outing and those who went enjoyed it greatly|
|July?||or a programme for the The Suffolk Summer Season at Southwold or Aldeburgh. The afternoon at the seaside followed by the late matinee seems to be a favourite.|
|Wed 29th August matinee||Miss Saigon
Norwich Theatre Royal
|We know it is a long way ahead but some venues are completely sold out, also we know it is fairly expensive, but West End tours charge more and it is probably much cheaper than going to London to see the show! So far we have 20 people interested and would certainly welcome a few more.|
|December||Christmas Spectacular 2018
|Always popular we will certainly be considering Thursford again next year.|
Finally, as last year there were a few shows for which we could not go ahead as there was not sufficient interest, we would like to extend our membership into the surrounding area. If you could mention us to any friends you think might be interested we would be very grateful.
